| Enosoft DV Processor Help |
A key design goal of the Enosoft DV Processor is to allow real-time processing of a live DV signal from one DV device and for the processed signal to be sent to another DV device without having to transfer the incoming signal to disk.
Configuring the software is straightforward. Firstly, select the Input device:

If the device is in camera mode, you will see a live feed. If the device is in VTR mode, you will either see a blank output (if the a tape is not playing) or you will see the output from the tape (if it is playing). You can control the device's tape mechanism either with the software (see DV Device Control), with the device's own controls or by Smart Device Control. For this example, a tape is already playing:

Then select the Output device:

In this example, Sony DV Camcorder #2 is the Input device and Sony DV Tape Recorder/Player is the Output device.
Once both are selected, the Processor controls are enabled and the transport controls for both the Input and Output devices are configured appropriately. Note that the Output Indicator Display shows the timecode and video format. This information is sent from the device to the computer.
Press the Processor's
button to begin.
Once the Processor is running, the Output section of the software's main window will show the video that is being sent to the Output device and the Indicator Display will show the embedded data within the output DV stream. Any processing options that are enabled will be reflected in the Output region's video display. (In this illustrative example, no processing options are enabled.)

Press the Processor's
button to stop.
By default, all the embedded data of the source file (timecode, date and time of recording, camera settings etc) are preserved. See Embedded Data Processing for details on how to modify the embedded data. Consult the manual for the output device for important information regarding the preservation of the embedded data when recording to tape. Some devices permit all the data to be preserved, some preserve everything except the timecode and some modify all the data (notably Sony Digital 8 devices).
